Hi dear! Don’tworry, I LOVED THIS ASK! I LOVE BAKUGOU! Anyway, in this scenario he’s older andyes, he has matured. As much as I love him, Katsuki still needs to grow andmature, to learn to apologize for his past mistakes and to accept people likeDeku (obviously, I know the problem with Deku is not only that he wasquirkless, I’m just simplifying). So here, I imagine him having done all ofthis (in his own grumpy and swearing way, without changing drastically hispersonality) and I hope you’re not going to find him ooc!
BakugouKatsuki x Quirkless Reader, Post-Marriage, Quirkless Son (Hikari), Angst withHappy Ending
You were seated on the couch of the living room, inthe dark; you held your knees to the chest as when you were younger and feltscared, lonely or depressed. You thought you had changed, you had becomestronger. Well, maybe it had been all an illusion.
The house was silent, for once you didn’t hear thebubbly laughter of your son, nor the growling of your husband. You had left thefirst one with your parents, since you weren’t in the right state of mind totake care of him and didn’t want him to see you cry, while Bakugou wasn’t goingto come back for another week, away for a job.
You didn’t remember the last time you had eaten ormoved. Your mind replied the words of the doctor again and again, every time ithurt more and you felt like dying inside.
“I’m sorry toinform you that your son is quirkless too.”
It was your fault. Only yours.
You remembered the relationship Katsuki and Dekushared during their first adolescence, the disgust your husband held forquirkless people at first. For you, he had made an exception, for you he hadlearnt to accept and respect this unlucky trait. Everybody said you two hadmade each other stronger and better people, that it was a sort of miracle thatBakugou had chosen to love you so dearly and passionately.
And now you’ve ruined everything.
You had taken away what Bakugou wanted the most. Asmall, brave son that could go pro-hero like him. Images of Bakugou’s fondsmile when Hikari was born flashed in fron of your eyes, of the way he lookedat the child when he slept, the laughter when they played together and yourhusband faked to be a scary villain so that your son could be the hero…
And what if now he was going to hate you? You and yourson? If he was tired of being with you? Tired of sharing your burden?
Suddenly, you heard the door opening and froze. Youperked your head up, feeling dizzy and confused, too weak to stand up and gochecking. What if it was a villain? Well, anyway you were too disheartened to l-
The lights were switched on and you blinked, blinded.
Then terror overwhelmed you.
“Oi, SO!” Katsuki threw on the floor his sport bag andrushed to your side, “What the hell is going on?” he roared worriedly, crouching in front of you and grabbing your wrists to pull them away from the face.
“W-why you are here?” you stuttered with eyes as wideas saucers. He shouldn’t have come back before-
“Your parents called me saying you had holed up in thehouse for three days and weren’t answering the phone, for fuck sake!” he interruptedglaring fiercely. You tried to free from his grip, panicking, but he kept youthere.
Your eyes filled with tears.
“I’m sorry Katsuki, I’m sorry!” you blurted shaking,as he looked horrified at your outburst, “I-It’s all my fault. I’m so sorry, it’sall my fault-“
“Hey, w-what’s going on?” he asked confused, trying tosoften his tone. He stood up and sat on the couch by your side, now holdinggently your hands.
“Our son is quirkless.” You spat it out as if it couldhurt less this way, looking down at your joined hands and feeling a heavynausea bottling in you. You had betrayed him in the worst way possible, hadn’tyou?
Bakugou held his breath, inhaling sharply. He tensedand closed his eyes with a grimace. Then, he exhaled slowly and deeply, tryingto steady his breath and keep calm.
“Yeah…I actually expected it,” he replying painfully, squeezing your hands as he looked again at you.
You turned your head horrified and met his red eyes. Painand a bit of disappointment, but the love was still there. There was the sameacceptance he held when he first had confessed to her, even if she was what hehad despised the most for years.
Bakugou sighed and rolled his eyes.
“If he had taken from me, he would have alreadymanifested his quirk,” he explained quietly, “I wasn’t sure so I waited. I’mnot an idiot,” he gruffly flicked your forehead.
You blinked at him, emotions whirling inside of you.
“You knew? And you didn’t say anything? Why aren’t youmad Katsuki?” you yelled between tears, “Why aren’t you disgusted? I ruined ourson! It’s my fault! The fault of my genes! You should be-” you hit him on thechest for every word you said. You wanted him to be as mad at you as you were,to vent it out on you. You were the one who had ruined your Hikari’s life.
Katsuki lost it. He cupped your cheeks and pulled youcloser in a chaste, but firm kiss.
“Stop it,” he growled on your lips, “That’s a fucking nonsense. It’s not your fault.”
You looked at him as a small animal, lost in yourself. Why? Just why?
“Our son is quirkless,” you whispered, “Like me.”
“So what?” he huffed. He didn’t let you avert youreyes, nor pull back.
“You wanted him to go pro-hero, I ruined his life.”
Katsuki scowled and rested his forehead against yours.
“Fuck SO! Obviously I wanted it, you know how I am,but nobody said he was going to be one. Maybe he would have become a teacher orsomething normal either way!”
“I love you even if you’re quirkless right? I fuckingmarried you, idiot! Why should I hate my son? Our son? Don’t you know howprecious you two are to me?” he continued without letting you talk, “You’reoverthinking such stupid things. He’s going to be the best even without anyquirk, because he’s ours okay?” his words struck you like a slap in the face.
You cried again, nodding desperately as finally the suffocating, invisible grip around your throat loosened in relief.
Katsuki relaxed too with a small smile and pulled you ina tight hug.
“Stop apologizing idiot, everything is okay,” hegrowled without any real anger.
“Mmh,” you hummed hiding in his arms, bashing in hiswarmth.
You shared a moment of comfortable silence, as youcried your last tears and Katsuki accepted in his heart that his son wasquirkless for real and it was going to be okay either way.
“Ehy, have you eaten something those days?” hesuddenly asked, glaring down at you.
You grimaced and averted your eyes.
“Fuck, SO!” he sworn shoving you gently to the sideand standing up, “Do you want to die or what?” He marched towards the kitchen, mumbling something under your breath.
A fond smile blossomed on your lips: he had changed somuch and you were so proud of him. You loved him as you’ve never loved anyoneelse.
“Now, you eat something and then we go to pick upHikari, so that you can apologize to everyone alright?” he shouted from the otherroom as you heard him banging pans and who knows what, “And come here, you lazybabe, I need some help!”
You laughed hard, happiness filling you up in waves.
“I’m coming, you grumpy babe!”
