By the Cretaceous period early rodent-like mammals had developed from their ancestral mammalian pelycosaurs of the Triassic period. These were often scavengers living on plants, carcass remnants and eggs.
So it really did turn out to be an onsen/not an onsen. All of it was like an onsen except that you didn’t have to shower before getting in. There were definitely minerals in the water, and they had the water flowing at a much faster rate than the other onsens I’ve been to. There was also a mixed-gender bath, although we didn’t go in. Tomo-san and I hung out in the indoor bath for a bit and then headed outside to chill out in the outdoor bath. I know this is only my third onsen (well, kind of), but I’ve decided that I like outdoor baths. They’re really relaxing! For the first few minutes that we were outside, Tomo-san and I just sat back in the water and admired the view. It was sprinkling/misting more than it was raining, and it cast everything in a really pretty haze.
These are pictures of a room where I’m assuming you’re supposed to go to after you get out of the bath so you can relax and chill. Tomo-san and I came here to wait for Ken-chan to come out.
There was condensation on the windows so the pictures of the outside don’t fully do the view justice.
They’ve also got a bunch of stuff in a giant case that takes up one entire wall of the store (pics 1-6). There’s a historical timeline on the wall that I’m sure lines up with whatever artifacts are in front of it. But, again, I can’t read it so I can’t tell you what any of it says.
At the second entrance to the store, they’ve also got this giant old clock (pic 7) and an oooooooooooold cash register (pics 8-9).
Another pano of the sunset over the beach. It’s so pretty!
The performance was amazing! I know the video is long, but seriously, you’ve got to watch it.
Cheezu! I’m still all red from the bath. I look like I’ve got the Asian drunk glow going on. Haha.
At the restaurant! I think it might be yakitori?
