MYTHBUSTERS: LEPPARD EDITION
oKay people I’m fucking dYinG over this-
So if you’ve been keeping up with literally anything Leppard’s been posting over the past month, you’ll know they’ve been promoting the hell out of this insanely overpriced line of ‘designer’ tshirts and hoodies and such by a company called Project Presents
The line is called Leppard Lyrics
It’s super officially licensed stuff, even so that Sav’s son Scott modeled for them
Even SAV helped promote it
The designs are pretty cool, but it costs WAY over $100 for any given one of them, no matter what article of clothing you buy, so you’d be crazy to spend money on it imo- no matter how high the quality or UV activated shit claims to be. Besides, they only come in black.
They have designs for Animal, Billy’s Got a Gun, Let Me Be the One, and so forth,
and then there’s THIS:
the “faith over money” design.
Now I know what you’re thinking: you’re either thinking “where the fuck is this from and how the fuck does it resemble Leppard, anyway? Did they just pick some random edgy-sounding phrase and put it in a Leppard font?” or “Oh it must be from Blind Faith, right? That’s the only Leppard song that has the worth ‘faith’ in the title, right?”
Well,
If you thought option #2, you’re only partially right.
Because if you google the lyrics to Blind Faith, you get this:
And if you google “Def Leppard Project Presents Faith Over Money”, you get this as a result:
You see both of these and you think “okay, that must explain it- it’s from Blind Faith after all! Let’s click on it just to make sure-”
But when you click on it-
The design got taken down weeks ago. I’m pretty sure it was only available for a week, if not a little longer, BUT it was still available long enough for people to buy it

All the other designs were still available, but not this one. So why?
For one thing, according to the lyric sheet that came with the vinyl- the only times they say the word “faith” in Blind Faith is in the lines “is my faith enough to keep them alive” and “faith hope and glory”. Though it’s incredibly easy to mishear that line as “faith over money” (I’m guilty of that myself as I was investigating this), that’s not what the line is.
Don’t believe me? Listen to the song yourself.
Here’s further proof that the line is “faith hope and glory”:
**In conclusion (TL;DR):**
This brand of clothing that has been promoting the shit out of this new collection and claims to be SO high end got the lyrics wrong. They got the lyrics wrong and printed it on shirts that sold for more than $100. They googled the lyrics and didn’t even check them officially. Sav was working so closely with them, and they still made this mistake, and tried to cover it up by taking it down. They exist, and they’re out there.
Imagine how much they’re gonna be worth in the future oh god
Thanks for coming to my TED talk
