This is Magalumbi Island in the municipality of Batad. It is 126.5 km north of Iloilo in the Island of Panay, Philippines. The 8th of November, this island was hit by Typhoon Yolanda (Haiyan). With a population of 207 people, 107 of them are kids under the age of 18. Only 4 houses remained standing after the storm. The focus of the project is to rebuild 43 houses, 40 bangkas, and a couple of communal infrastructures so that the community can rebuild their lives and start up their livelihood.
We will be delivering materials for 40 boats on December 16th, 2013. Just in time for Christmas.
