This past week we started the transition into our next program with rehearsals for Alejandro Cerrudo’s, “One Thousand Pieces” while keeping up Cinderella rehearsals for the second weekend of shows. Internally I felt the tides turning and held on best I could to “ride the wave” into Thursday night’s performance. The mental space of holding onto one ballet while embracing another is difficult, especially since the physical shift is big from classical ballet to contemporary movement. It’s also emotionally hard to let go of something you loved and work so hard on for weeks. Feels like a small death, and I need time to mourn it. I took this picture just after I got back to the dressing room after my last show.
