Hi, question: should I get sjm's books? I want to because I'm in love with the tfota books and apparently acotar is similar to that. But, I have Cresent City and I can't get past chapter 1 of that and I'm confused
This is less of a question and more me asking you to choose for me but potato, potahto🙈
I've literally never heard anyone say potahto in my life where'd that come from?
Acotar is similar to tfota? Honestly I strongly disagree but it's good and in my opinion it's similar to sjm's previous series tog. There are some major red flags like lack of diversity and some may argue she’s problematic but ig it depends in your opinion.
Regarding crescent city, I myself zoned out during the first five chapters but I promise it will get better towards the end.
I’m only posting this because of this paragraph:
For Mr. Morris, biography was a great journey into the unknown, or something comparable to a colonoscopy. Interviewing friends and relatives of the late president to nail down the sound of Roosevelt’s laugh, poring over Reagan’s diary in search of insights into his character, the author collected details on a vast supply of 5-by-8-inch cards, then slowly shaped his material into a manuscript. Fixated by the mechanics of his sentences, he said he wrote no more than 300 words a day in longhand with a green fountain pen.
What the hell? How is slowly writing a biography by hand based on one’s notes in any way like having a camera stuck up your butt into your colon? And how are colonoscopies like a great journey into the unknown? They’re actually really routine! This is like one of those “Shit my students write” posts. A terrible opening sentence and analogy with no support anywhere in the remaining paragraph or anywhere else in the article. At no point is the equivalency of biography writing and colon cancer screening via butt camera elaborated on. I am flummoxed by this. Like, I know I’m trying to be funny here, but I honestly don’t get where this came from or how it made it past the editors?
Hooooooope. "Prove yourself to me!" It's not the first time he's said that. And I can't help but think he's fond of sparring sessions that get a little handsy.
you horny bastards, y’all wanted me to see this movie so i would write about The Jude Law as Ron-Bogg didn’t u
