The Potential Number: a major core number

The Potential Number is one of the core numbers to study in Numerology. In other words, it’s one of the main numbers to take into account. Forgetting it, underestimating it are big mistakes.

Why? Because this number is derived from the consonants of a name. Consonants are basic letters in the alphabet, at least, in the Latin alphabet. In the Semitic languages, they are even more important as the vowels generally are written with signs; they are not considered as letters.

Unlike the vowels, the consonants stop the air from passing through the mouth. They are easy to be heard. Without consonants, there is no limit, no details, no precision. If you write words with vowels only, you couldn’t understand anything. Conversely, if you write words with consonants only, you could still guess the meaning of it, such as in most Semitic languages that generally don’t use the vowels. Consonants used alone will never be as clear as words written both with consonants and vowels. Consonants used alone are less mysterious than vowels taken apart but they’re still enigmas.

It is the common point shared between the Potential Number (consonants) and the Soul Number (vowels): they reveal something HIDDEN.
