I think something we really gotta keep in mind about these games is that they’re Six’s story, they always have been. Everything is about and revolves around her, the pace of things is hampered when she’s not around. In the comics (not the app comics, I mean the actual published comics that Aaron Alexovich drew) we only see the other kid’s stories because Six stumbled upon them, and they only tell her their stories because she won’t speak about her own, or speak at all. The first game, obviously, Six is the character you play as, but then in the DLC (spoilers) the Runaway Kid is following Six from below, until eventually he makes the wrong move and is eaten by her. In Very Little Nightmares, the Raincoat Girl sees Six (assumedly, I’m pretty sure that’s basically confirmed at this point), and Six sticks with her until the end, when she tries to help but watches her friend die anyways. The app comics don’t really fit this mold but you couple probably slot them in somehow if you connect Mono as intrinsically tied to Six, since he’s in a number of them in strange places. And then finally the second game is Mono saving Six, him being forced to allow her story to continue, alone, solitary in the stories she’s consumed (no pun intended) and the weight of lives on her tiny 9-year-old shoulders.
Now then that all being said, here’s a crackjob theory and/or AU for y’all: Six is god lmao
Do what you will with that
