I made a deal with a friend that if we were both disappointed in the stranger things finale, I'd rewrite it.
SO, now I'm here, and it's gonna take a while, cause I haven't written in a long time, but I would appreciate any st fans to list their most annoying unresolved plotholes, and/or general annoyances courtesy of the original creators, please and thank you.
I'll go first-
- the Painting™
- Mike literally didn't have an arc this season??
- how did el know who will was in s1?
- who unlocked the door in s1?
- el should've been more independent
- will's coming out scene
- I don't think the Nancy/Jonathan/Steve love triangle was necessary and it hurt Steve's arc
- Jonathan's character needed more care in general (after breaking up w Nancy, who is he around? How? Who does he talk to? What happened to argyle? Who is Jonathan byers, really?)
- why did Vecna need 4 teens to open the gate?
- why did Vecna need 12 kids to operate the fleshy mindflayer?
- el, will, and mike were all sidelined, hard, and they should've been front and center this season
- not annoying, but confusing- what happened with Murray??? He just disappeared??
- personally, I think byler would've been amazing for both mike and will's arcs, and the entire series (up until s5ep6) points to it
- Vickie also disappeared, now that I think about it
- I feel like Lucas should've been given a bow and arrow (or some other weapon- but he likes his slingshot, so why not something similar?)
- mike and robin should've interacted more
- where'd the demogorgons go?
- if you haven't seen or don't know what happens in the play, Vecna's backstory is probably confusing and incomplete. I don't like that
- max and el needed a MUCH better reunion
- what does Mrs. Wheeler think/do now?
- what was everything like in the 18 months at the beginning of the season?
- Kali was dead an hour before hiding el. El wouldn't have given up on her unless she was dead
- el can resuscitate people, as evidenced by s4- something I thought was going to be addressed and treated as the big deal it is (it wasn't)
- I don't think holly should've been the main character for an entire volume, not with the time they had

There's more stuff, there always is, but it's 4:30 AM and I'm feeling sad, betrayed, disappointed, empty, and tired, so I'll leave it there for now, and we'll see where this goes.
