Oogway was viewed as a wise turtle with kickass moves....but if you get to know him he is actually someone who you can’t seem to take seriously. When he doesn’t know something he will tell you. He believes in the good of others and the power of laughter. He sees the world as a place of opportunity, growth, change, possibility, and what makes him so special is he has faith in others. Look at this photo of Shifu freaked out, while Oogway has the face of “this is going to be fun, and Shifu will get to grow even more!”

I think that Oogway chose Po because he saw himself in Po. He mentions in the third movie that he saw the future, and knew Po will unite the past and the present. Although I truly believe that to be a Master and a leader you cannot take yourself too seriously. You need to know when to laugh as well as when to be serious. To be a Master you must stay humble while knowing when to take charge. 

Can you see Shifu doing that without meeting Po? Can you see the furious five doing that? Po is the only one that can match as surpass this crazy, wise, strong turtle. 

If you say this movie has no message, has no purpose then I must kindly disagree with you.
