I have a super love/hate relationship with handling mugs. I used to pull my handles with water until a friend pointed out that if I was going to put time into altering them anyway I may as well use a handle making tool to make them straight from a slab. This way I don’t have to wait as long for each handle to dry before I can alter it and attach it. From @stephanieboydworks - Omg. If only it were this fast in real life. The base is sitting on a slightly curved mold that I made a few weeks ago. It'll give a nice swoop to the bottom. The sides are thrown on the wheel. Essentially a bowl without a bottom. I'll now let this piece dry for a while and firm up, then I'll take it off the mold for the finally clean up before firing. Working through some new shapes and ideas on these mugs! I use water and a glossy surface to smooth any little goobers and uneven spots on the foot.
