idk with the hogwarts thing like if theres 1000 kids in a year thats 250 in a house (assuming they're split equally). then dorms are split into male and female. so even then, there's 125 girls in a dorm. split that up among 7 years and theres ~18 girls in each dorm. i wonder if jkr has ever said anything about how many people go to hogwarts

ok, so we know harry shares a dorm with ron, neville, seamus, and dean. all of them are in the same year. and there’s no other gryffindor boy mentioned to be in the same year as them. so 5 guys. hp wiki says “Parvati shared her dormitory with Hermione Granger, her best friend, Lavender Brown and other two girls.” so that makes 5 girls. do we know any other gryffindor girls in the same year? i don’t think so. so...10 per house?? ~40 new students each year? fdshfusfs i don’t even know
