1. How did you choose your cat’s name?
Pouet: @nyliekeo , another friend and I had a running joke going about founding a Pouet club (normally the onomatopoeia for a squeaky toy, in this case more of a synonym for 'poke(ing friends in the shoulder)' I don't remember how exactly I decided to use Ppuet as a name but it definitely came from there xD
Gollum (the cat): she had the worst meow I've ever heard, what seemed to be quite the temper, and enormous eyes (that she later grew into) and LOTR is never very far from my mind xD
Am: She had two sister and the vet office asked me to put their names down. I thought of something that went in three's, and landed on Am, Steam, Gram, which is the French equivalent to Eenie Minnie Mainy (Mo). Gram has since been renamed but afaik Stram remains Stram to this day :)
Bichon: I was trying not to get too attached (and also not to use his potential name at the time, because it was Leo and I don't like people names on animals) so I called him "Petit Bichon" (a possible pet name for animals or kids) for three weeks. Then the vet told me he'd be with me for about six month and I figured well, might as well keep the same word xD
7. How did you meet your cat?
Pouet and Gollum were both found through colleagues. Pouet was pure luck, as she was wandering around all alone in the streets, whereas Gollum's mom and siblings used to hand out at another colleague's place for food. I'm told the rest of Gollum's family made an abrupt disappearance shortly after she came to live with Pouet and I though, so it seems she had a fairly narrow escape there.
Am I found on a parking lot on my way back from groceries. I literally picked a cardboard box up from the trash to put her and her sisters in and take them to the vet xD
Bichon was found at my work in early November, and I was the only one with the possibility to take him in, so I did.
18. Describe one weird thing your cat does.
I literally can't recall anything particularly weird that Pouet did x) I might biased or time has already erased her quirks (I got teary eyed earlier, thinking of her for no reason) but she was just an absolute gem who once gave me a massage when I needed one 💕
Gollum will attack the toilet paper as soon as she's feeling mildly anxious. I literally can't trust her alone with it more than a minute in these moments. (Bichon also attack tp, but I suspect it's more of a trauma response from all the eye cleaning we're doing xD)
Am wakes me up by poking me with her claws. Now meow until later in the process, she just pulls at me with her claw--she tries to be gentle! But. Sharp. XD
Bichon tried to jump at my face these days. Little shit gets awfully close for a kitten that can't see xD
All three of them also tend to sit on my shoulders when at the vet or when stressed, which judging from the Vet's reaction, is apparently unusual xD
24. What is your cat afraid of?
Well, no one's a big fan of rain or thunder (#monsoon) but Gollum and Bichon seem relatively well adjusted so no big fear.
Am, however, is terrified of stranger. She spends all of the DND games played at my place hiding under the bed. Last time it was over four hours xD
