A few days back, I took a poll for “how many young black women following this blog are located in the DMV area (That’s Washington D.C., Maryland and Virginia)?”. This is why I took the poll:
I recently accepted the position of Marketing Executive of Powerful Women Make Power Moves, a movement of millennial women determined to win in their careers, businesses, and lives by taking deliberate action and unapologetically pursuing purpose.
Last year Powerful Women Make Power Moves hosted two sold out brunches and currently have a FB group with over 1000 network members.
One of our goals is to create events that inspire women to take action and make big decisions concerning their careers, businesses, and lives.
In the same way that I invite you all to take part in Hillman Alumni in hopes of helping you showcase your melanin, I invite you and the young women you are connected to to join us for an afternoon of powerful connecting at:
Power30 - The Premier Networking Event for Millennial Women.
During Power30, you will have the chance to connect with 30 “Power Movers”. These women are executives, CEOs, business owners, and influencers from 30 different career fields. They will provide attendees with greater insight into their industry, internship and job opportunities, and mentoring relationships. This event will provide young women the opportunity to meet women who could propel their careers and put them one step closer to realizing their dreams.
The event is Saturday, March 26th at the University of Maryland College Park. It will start promptly at 12 and end at 2:30pm.
Make a Power Move that day and join us (of course I will be in attendance)!
Tickets can be purchased at here –> www.power30.eventbrite.com
If you purchase your ticket(s) before March 15th, your ticket will cost $22. March 16th and on will cost you $25.00 (+$2.37 Fee)
From now until the day of the event, you can easily reach the event page to buy tickets and view additional info on the event by simply clicking the following banner on my blog.
**Tip, if you can’t see the entire panel pictured above when you enter my blog on your computer, zoom out. I’m able to see the full panel on some computers but not others, depending on how far my view is zoomed in.
Mobile view should not experience this problem, but mobile view won’t be able to view the green panel to click the instagram link (no big deal, a heads up is all this is).
If you have any questions at all, please contact myself, or Isi Aladejobi, founder of Powerful Women Make Power Moves at [email protected]
Please spread the word to the young black women in your lives and stay tuned to the blog for more updates! I can’t wait to experience this event and other opportunities with you ladies!
I love y'all and want to see you on campus!!!
-Kabs ❤️
P.S.
Here’s the flyer, again.
Print it, pin it, post it, email it, all that.
Please and thank you!
Okay, bye for real this time, lol
