Pink Feathers - Start Over
RIYL: White Sea, CHVRCHES, Pr0files
I’ve been wondering what smoldering Los Angeles indie pop duo Pr0files has been up to these past months. After all, they gave us a spectacular debut full length named Jurassic Technologie and they were easily one of the most passionately captivating acts I caught at SXSW last year. Turns out, among whatever other mysterious feats they’ve might be busy with, they’ve also churned out a synthwavey remix that I’m head over heels for. Pr0files has turned Dear Boy’s bittersweet rock gem Alluria on its head, giving it a fresh new identity with their vocoder heavy electronic edit. Shades of Kavinsky and hints of S U R V I V E can be found on this gloriously pulsing sonic mass. As much as I’m fond of Dear Boy’s original, I can’t help but welcome this unique take on the track by Pr0files, with wide open, jubilant raised arms.
Such a great piece of electropop. So catchy and synth. ☺
Pr0files - L.I.M.E. (Indie Pop)
🕑 1 min / Text: Franklin B. Release Date: Oct. 27, 2023 Folks, this song isn’t just a throwback to 80s new wave music, it's a throwback to my youth, and I absolutely enjoyed this classic synth-pop sound. "L.I.M.E." is a brand-new release by the talented Los Angeles-based duo Lauren Pardini & Danny Sternbaum, also known as Pr0files. It starts off with the fantastic chorus, and you can trust me, the melody will keep on playing on repeat inside your head for the rest of the day. I'm absolutely digging the beautiful analog synth sounds, together with the soulful vocals and the driving drums in the mix. "L.I.M.E." is joyful, fun, and it makes the listener feel so nostalgic.
