I am still kinda shell-shocked by the fact that I can officially call myself a student of Lily Afshar. I can't wait to start grad school!! 💙🎸💙 Happy #GuiTuesday!!
I found out that I live 10 minutes away from nature reserve. I thought I'd go and sit on a bench to study or read and then maybe catch a few Pokémon (let's be honest I went entirely to catch pokemon) but this is what happened instead: I ended up taking a three mile walk, making some animal (and people) friends and falling in love with my city.
i just reserved about 15 books at the library they are all mine no one else can have them just me
I was in the central branch of the Memphis public library today and omg I’ve just never seen a library so amazing. It had 3 floors, escalators, a foodcourt, a used bookshop inside AND almost half a floor dedicated to a music score library?! It was so beautiful guys I kept getting laughed at by little kids and the security guards bc I kept running from one end to another giggling and taking pictures and pulling books off the shelves it was so amazing!!!
Ok so I got another email from the guy at admissions and he said to consider his last email my "unofficial acceptance to the graduate program at University of Memphis." I should be hearing officially right after the long weekend. I honestly can't believe that I just pulled off the dumbest series of extremely optimistic actions and got away with it. Series of dumb actions: 1. Only applied to and auditioned at ONE GRAD SCHOOL 2. MOVED TO MEMPHIS BEFORE BEING ACCEPTED 3. BASICALLY LIED TO EVERYONE IN MY LIFE AND TOLD THEM "I'M IN" (without clarifying anything, I literally just said "I'm in." In my defense Lily Afshar herself told me I was in right after my audition so I was encouraged this is not all on me) 4. GOT A UNIVERSITY OF MEMPHIS LICENSE PLATE WTF WHY WHY WOULD I DO THAT IT WOULD HAVE BEEN SO AWKWARD IF I DIDNT GET IN Just wtf this whole year has been my most reckless and I don't even know why but I pulled it off everything is ok. I'm a grad student now. 😁😁😁😁😁😁
