the red mage groaned in embarrassment, already regretting the words spoken. self - pity was never her style. ‘ i suppose i understand why you strive to learn as much as you do. the unknown is what frightens me most. ‘

“you are” they hiss, hands yanking out their great sword from one of the tempered soldiers. it became increasingly harder to fight an enemy that wanted them dead while they tried to not harm their opponent too much... sometimes they simply failed. 

and now they stand there in garlemald’s cold and they are not sure if their hands shake due to the cold wind blowing against their body or because of the anger beneath their skin. whatever it is, they need a distraction and preferably not in the form of fandaniel hovering over their shoulder. they want to repeat again that he is the bad person here but the words would feel hollow in their mouth - hollow and hypocritical, because they know, they are not exactly a good person either.

“are you planning on just standing there or could you deign yourself to be useful for once and find me a shovel?”

"Thancred." How rare, for Thancred to actually be holding still in a building rather than incidentally passing by, to be out the door in a moment. Or, if he is to be leaving shortly, too bad. Urianger approaches to divert him, though at least with something (perhaps) of interest.

It's held out to Thancred, a white bottle stamped with brushed script reading the name of Shiokaze. "I hath recieved a gift from our friends in Doma— lord Gosetsu, claiming repayment for a meal." It was entirely unnecessary of him, but still. "I hath ensured its safety, of course, but... it doth embarrass me a slight bit to admit, but I knoweth little and less of spirits, so wouldst thou like to be responsible for this? I feel strangely guilty keeping it for myself like that." Not his specialty of vice! Ergo, perhaps Thancred can make use of it, since going over and talking to F'lhammin instead still makes Urianger feel a bit awkward.

I’ve never pictured you as much of a culinarian, now that I think about it.”  Is that an insult? She isn’t trying to be rude for once, though she does look to be highly amused. She’d be surprised if G’raha had made them himself, honestly.  “Either way, thank you. This is quickly becoming a favored festival of mine.”

Elidibus glances over at his company; somewhat surprised that he was making conversation. They were not close. But he certainly doesn’t mind talking with him.

“Most of them are quite dull, there are a few interesting exceptions.” He replies with a small shrug. “It isn’t really their fault, is it? They can’t help that they’re not whole.” 

Regarding their happiness though, the Emissary was unsure of how he feels about it. It does feel odd that anyone can manage happiness in the state that they are in; but they don’t know any different.

If you ask Laurel if she ever gets bored to hear the smarty pants of the Scions talking about stuff she barely understood, she wouldn’t tell you, just prettily smile and continue listening to them without any care. People don’t think Laurel is smart enough to understand what they say but she does, the xaela was, after all, taken care of by a scholar and he personally taught her a lot.

But right now? She was bored out of her mind. Yes, he is pretty enough for her to stay still and listen him rambling about the Students of Baldesion and their progress but at the same time, because he was pretty enough she wanted him to stop talking and pay attention to her.

Letting her head fall to her hand, her elbow supported by the table while she looked at him continue to ramble. The xaela knew this was coming when she asked how he was, after inviting him to eat and drink some tea in her room inside the Baldesion Annex.

But at the same time, Laurel also wanted his attention and she was getting none of that.

So she needed to think quick to shut him up.

Or not think at all when she grabbed his chin and turned his face towards her, her own face closer.

“You talk too much sometimes” Laurel smiles before shutting him up with soft kiss on his lips, like she was tasting his lips before she licks them for him to open his mouth and deepen the kiss.

The xaela decides to finish the kiss with another, quick one before she sat straight on her chair, giving him an innocent smile after she licked her lips in contemplation of the kiss.

“So~, were you saying?”

Thancred nearly had the wind knocked out of him as he felt Y'shtola pin him against the wall. He most likely deserved it, yet he could not distinctly remember what exactly he did to warrant any such punishment.

Then she leaned in close, almost too close for comfort. He felt her breath on his skin, trailing down his jawline and his neck, sending a light shiver down his spine.

"Y'shtola, might I ask what you are- Ah!"

She nipped him a bit harsher than he would've liked, but he wasn't going to complain. He gazed down at her with a smirk.

"My, my, aren't we feisty this evening..."
