PRAEDYTH // MOODBOARD
They set up camp in the sprawling roots of a great tree. The radiolaria sizzling under its bark is a pleasant background noise, loud enough to drown out the whispering of the flowers. Elsie lays out the tarps they’ve been using as bedrolls, stolen from a simulation of a farm they found sticking out like a sore thumb in a vast asphodelia meadow. Far above, false stars glimmer in the night sky. “I am…” Praedyth starts, trying to identify the displaced feeling in his stomach. “Hungry. I think. I’ve forgotten…” He stares down at his own body in wonder. “I haven’t been hungry in a long time.”
Chapter fourteen: Eden
I honestly forgot which week we're on so I'm struggling to follow my own spoiler policy lol.
I was watching a video about the new exotic Encore mission and there is a new emblem that you can obtain after completing a series of tasks… but the emblem itself made me pause. I think it represents Praedyth.
Maybe it’s an already been spoken about (I’m a little behind in the story still), but it just… it feels like Praedyth. The dragon emblem, the broken clock, the skull (D1 Paradox mission anyone?).
I am honestly just over here waiting and waiting for more Praedyth content…
Just wanted to hear your thoughts! Of do you think the emblem represents someone else? Or is it just a cool emblem and I’m looking too far into it lol
That's an interesting emblem. The requirements are not live yet so it'll be a part of the secret chests/alternate paths next week, so there's not much really to tell from the description of how it's acquired.
I see your line of thinking. And that's not just any dragon. That's the icon for White Nail, the exotic perk on Whisper of the Worm:
Which makes me think this has something to do with the portal that links Encore and Whisper of the Worm. I suspected that at some point this portal should activate or at least show the image of the other side; it hasn't on week 1 or week 2, so I assume it'll happen next week and maybe have something to do with acquiring this emblem? Really interesting!
And the thing is... This portal? Whisper of the Worm portal was originally linked with... the Vault of Glass. It was changed to Encore in Wish (though at the time we didn't know what it changed to). I'm now thinking that it's somewhat possible that we might get answers about why these portals are connected and that it could, in some way, involve Praedyth. Maybe a way for him to escape? From the Vault through Whisper and to Encore. I won't hope for too much here because it would be quite extraordinary to just do that, but I would like for at least a mention of him. They've done it twice already this episode. Praedyth believers stay strong.
[destiny] for all of time
Rating: G Ship: Praedyth(/Pahanin/Kabr) Note: Vault of Glass, Canonical Character Death(s). Written for Pride Kisses 2025 - Day 8 "Almost lost you" kiss.
Summary: In all timelines, Praedyth will not exist.

Describe time. No, really, give it a go. You're going to say something about a sequence of events, aren't you? Seconds sliced off a clock, marching one by one off into infinity. Go ahead, use your metaphors: A line. A loop. A flat circle. Heard someone say time was like water once. At least that was novel. The Vex, they're the closest to understanding it. They've got distance from it. If time's a river, then we're fish and they're diving birds. What's wet mean to a fish? What's it mean to an osprey, who's never fooled by refraction on the water's surface?
Everyone seems to have a favourite topic in d2 (character, race, groups etc) that I love reading their analysis of and then... there's me, bouncing between 20 minor characters and 200 miniscule interactions across the destiny timeline like a scavenger.
Did you know that Tevis Larsen had apparently had an instance of direct contact with Rasputin? Where Red told him he does not care about humanity?
Or that Drifter had at some point asked Felwinter to kill the Warlord Citan that had massacred Eaton when Felwinter had already joined the Iron Lords, and been under the Iron Decree no less? And that Felwinter did it anyway?
Or that Wei Ning's fists could move mountains? That Taeko-3 was a Praxic Warlock and Eriana was one as well?
How Andal Brask died from Tallulah Fairwind slapping his shoulder the moment he got to the City? After he barfed on the watercraft Micah-10, Den-Mother-Of-Ghosts, put him to cross over the Pacific to get to the City? And how she is being hunter by the Ghost killing Guardian Cyrell while she herds Ghosts towards their new charges?
That Shaxx kicked Teben Grey and Shin Malphur (as Zyre Orsa at the time) out of the Crucible with a great many threats and how, where Andal had been almost neutral towards them, Cayde was instead pointedly dismissing the not-yet Shadows, because he and Shaxx were close?
How Pahanin kept saying puns just to annoy Kabr because he thought it funny and the piece of crumpled gum-wrapper he tossed at Praedyth's head before they walked in the Vault is still something Praedyth has.
All these little events are so important to me, and I'm not sure why.
