Aunor and Taeko-3 knew each other (fellow Praxics, huh) and had this vaguely friendly rivarly going on for years. It started as genuine animosity, but grew into this affectionate back-and-forth and competing with each other became a catalyst for tentative friendship.

Then Taeko died and Aunor was crushed.
