Dennis’ room back home in Broken Bow is the house’s nursery converted into a bedroom, as he was the youngest and final Whitaker to be born into that household.
I can’t decide if any of his older brothers share a room or have bigger ones, but Dennis definitely lived in the nursery his entire life.
Each of his brothers had been born and raised in that room before him, and then moved to their own bedroom as they transitioned to the next stages of life.
I can imagine two of his brothers sharing the same room, but they both agree they’d rather share a room than have the nursery.
Alternatively, I can see each of them having their own room, with the nursery being the smallest.
I like to think that as the Whitakers got older, they didn’t really care so much about decorating and personalizing a bedroom, so while there had been talks of it, the nursery’s cutely painted pastel walls were never painted over. Or maybe it was wallpaper of lambs and rabbits, silly geese, happy cartoon animals with smiles all around. He’s had posters and pictures over the years, but the animals on the walls had always stayed. Maybe that’s why the pedes wing Dennis found Robby in that day was so comforting, even surrounded by all the blood.
It was like… coming home.
