Happy Houseplant Appreciation Day!

I had to move my prayer plant on my nightstand because it kept waking me up and freaking me out when it moved. It's now across the room and was rustling loudly this morning for some reason.

Prayer plants are freaky.

Why are prayer plants (Maranta Leuconeura) so fascinating??! All of them are so gorgeous, intriguing and alive! 💚

They love:

-Medium indirect light

-Let the soil dry well between watering sessions

-I also add 1-2 tablespoons of coffee grounds

heyy pumpkins!! i said a few days ago that i was gonna show off some of my plants but ! i forgot !!!!!!! :] but don't worry i have some pictures now

so the first 2 pics is my little Mimosa Pudica (Sensitive Plant) that i finally got around to repot! The soil was drying out a bit too fast, and the roots were drying out, so i potted them up in a slightly bigger pot.

along with my Fiddle Leaf Fig, who’s been pushing out a new branch every since i propagated his top stem!

next is my Neon Pothos that i showed y’all about a month ago, when i was debating whether to re-pot her again, and she’s really taking off!!

my Monstera Deliciosa cutting is finally pushing out a new leaf!! i’m so excited to see it when it unfurls 🥺🥺🥺

and my Philodendron Birkin + Aglaonema Lucky Red is also thriving! still trying to push out as much growth before winter hits.

and finally a little group photo of my Marantas, Begonia Maculata, Monstera Adansonii, Lucky Bamboo, and lots of propagations!

Do you know when a day has just taken everything from you and you want to cry? :')

So i have had a lot go on in the past 12 hours. A lot. One big thing being having to let go of my old blog

Okay so i got hardly any sleep, thanks to insomnia and dickhead neighbours. Then, okay so i took my phone to a repair shop. I shit you not. They wanted to hold it till next Monday, to then give it back to me the following Thursday/Friday! I said i cannot do that, also like, the speaker literally got the tiniest amount of water damage! This could be a 30 minute repair! No way is it 2 weeks worth! So i took it to another shop, they only wanted it for 4 hours to clean it. I cannot begin to tell you the stress of all of this, the bad vibes, and the anxiety, like, i just couldn't. Well 4 hours later i go to pick it up, they tell me the speaker is fine, i pay £15 and leave happy. I dunno what to think. When i have the phone at 50% or less it's definitely okay, but above 50% and it still sounds like an early 2000's device, so like, they SAID they fixed it but I'd say they just improved it, and it is not fixed. So now I'm like, what do i do? Do i just suck it up and have a crappy speaker, or go 2 weeks without a phone to fix a freaking speaker?

Anyway, i told myself no more plants, not until i either got a ZZ plant or a golden pothos. But i saw some calethea/prayer plants for the first time ever! They actually had like, 4 different ones, and i loved the one that was mostly black with the two purple stripes, but i dunno, i was just feeling i needed colour! As you can see they are in AWFUL condition, it's my first time having calathea so i will try to research their specific names and how to care for them and just hope i can bring them back to health after a soil change into some better soil! Also the red/purple calathea matches my cordyline fruticosa, so that's cute!

so, while my time in isolation has hardly been good overall, poland has lifted some of the restrictions on shopping, which obviously meant i had to go to the plant store. it also just so happened that they had two main plants off my wishlist, this beautiful calathea white star and this teeny babby maranta that's actually flowering! i already love them so much. so yeah, point is, plant shopping is the best therapy, you can't convince me otherwise.
