Phoebus Apollo, bright as you are, please guide me through this day and the coming year. As my age turns and changes, help illuminate the path to growth and movement so that I do not remain stagnant and unchanged. Allow me to bask in the joyous moments, but also feel the depths of grief and sadness. Grant me the wisdom to navigate the complex emotions I may not always be able to name. Help me to see through your lens the beauty and wonder in every facet of life.
I hope to live this next year honoring You, worshipping You, living in a manner that glorifies You. You are bright and luminous as the sun itself. You shine with all its warmth, all its nurturing, healing light. I aim to bask in it. To feel the sun on my face and know You’re there, watching and loving the world below. To know that I am lucky enough to be part of the world You bless, one of the people whose prayers You answer.
Apollo Acesius, I ask that You watch over my health and the health of those I hold dear. In chronic illness I have found a lot of pain both physically and mentally. But I have found joy as well, through meeting people with similar experiences, through using and accessorizing mobility aids, through finding medications that work. You have been a tremendous help to me in this last year regarding my health. And I pray to You asking that you do the same another year. That You hear me, and see me, that You acknowledge and understand my pain and ailments. That You lovingly guide me towards each next step, with empathy and care in every touch and every word. That You introduce me to doctors, medications and therapies that can address the issues at play, ease the pain, and increase my quality of life. This I ask of You.
I ask that You remember every offering I’ve made, whether it be a devotional act or a freshly baked treat. I ask that You remember each time I have taken my meds, ridden a horse, engaged in creative and artistic acts in Your honor. I ask that You remember the days that were too difficult for a traditional offering, where all I could manage was a small prayer before sleep or playing a song for You. I ask that you see all of this and know my devotion to You is strong. Know that You are one of the greatest joys and comforts in my life.
Thank You, Apollon, for all You do for me. Thank You for everything done behind the scenes, that may never come to light but that You did anyways to help me. I appreciate and adore You, and I’m so grateful that I get to worship and work with You. Here’s to hoping for another good year of worshipping and loving You.
