Manhunt 2/Bully Au crossover taking place after the showdown
It was over.
Jimmy had beaten Gary, gotten the bastard expelled, even redeemed himself in the face of both the principle and the entire school. Though, before he could celebrate, he’d have to help the newly defeated Gary to his room.
The shorter teen dragged the taller one through the halls before realizing that, it was tiring and wouldn’t be effective when they got out of the school building. Just then, a voice called out.
“Hey Jimmy!” Petey ran to Jimmy. “I heard what happened, you’re back! And and- Gary’s er,” he looked down at the motionless Gary with a growing concern on his face.
“Oh don’t worry, he’s just being a drama Queen.” Jimmy assured Petey. “Give me a hand though will you?” The two together lifted up Gary putting his arms on their shoulders. Petey placed his hand on Gary to move him when he noticed something.
He put his ear to his chest. “What?” Jimmy asked. Petey took his ear off and placed it again, the boy’s expression changing to one of confusion into fear. “What?!” Jimmy cried out. “Jimmy,” he paused.
“I don’t think he’s breathing.”
His eyelids felt warm. As if beckoning him to open them. They felt heavy too though. What could’ve caused that? Gary thought. He could hear footsteps around him, people talking, and…
Beeping?
Gary slowly, but surely, managed to open his tired eyes. He tried raising his hand to rub his eyes only to realize that he couldn’t. Panic rushed though him. Looking down at his right arm to see an IV hooked to a machine. He was about to scream before hearing a familiar voice.
“Gary! Gary, Gary I’m here.”
The teenager looked to the source of the voice. “Leo?” He questioned in a weak voice. Leo placed his hand onto Gary’s shoulder, “Yeah, it’s me.” He said with a smile plasteh by red on his face.
It was clear the older sibling had been crying, his eyes red and wet.
Had, something happened while he was out? Gary thought. What did happen anyways? Why was he in the hospital? Why was his brother crying?
“Hey it’s okay Gary.” Leo gently spoke as he pulled Gary into a hug. The teen felt his eyes well up, he didn’t know if it was cause of Leo being there for him or the missing gaps in his recollection that scared him to not know. Either way tears were shedded from both brothers as they held each other for seeming forever.
The doctor came in and called Leo out to speak with him. Leo excused himself and Gary was left alone with his thoughts.
During this alone time Gary fought to remember. To remember anything. He remembered going off his meds, the betrayal, the instigating, and, nothing. The only thing he found while in his mind was the question:
Why?
Why had he done all that? Why couldn’t he just stop himself? Why had he destroyed the only two friendships he’d created?
“Great job Gary,” he mumbled to himself. “You’re just such a great friend aren’t you?”
“No you’re not going in!”
Gary looked to the door, why did his brother say that? He saw a glimpse of two smaller other figures. Impulsively he got out of the hospital bed and stumbled to the door on unbalanced legs. He cracked open the door.
“Gary!” His, er, what even were they now?
“You’re not supposed to be out of bed!” Leo scolded Gary. He turned around and picked him off his feet back onto the bed. He forgot how strong he was.
Petey and Jimmy slipped into the room during this. Petey wore a black vest sweater with his pink collared shirt, he held a book in his hands. “Gary I-“ he said before getting cut off.
“Out!” Leo yelled at the two outsiders.
“No! It’s fine Leo,” He assured the angered man. “Just give us ten minutes, I, I wanna hear what they have to say.”
Leo looked into Gary’s eyes. Seeing the plead in his younger brother’s eyes. Leo sighed. “Five minutes, but if anything happens,” he snapped his glare to the two boys, “I won’t be happy.” After saying that he left the room.
It was quiet for a bit before Petey spoke up. “I brought you your book!“ he gave it to Gary’s open hands. “I just, uh, noticed you had it in your room and thought you’d, you know, like to finish it.” Gary scanned the book, Catcher in the rye. “Thanks for the almost dying gift Pete.” He joked before turning his attention to the other that stood beside Pete.
Jimmy wore his brown jacket with a white button up underneath. He carried some beat up looking flowers.
Jimmy silently placed the flowers on Gary’s side. “It’s ugly looking cause Pete ran into them.”
“I did not! You hit me with them!”
“Cause it’s what Gary would’ve wanted!”
“No, you hit me cause I said he wouldn’t want to see us!”
“Dude!” Jimmy took the flowers back and smacked Pete with them.
“Well, It’s actually the opposite,” Gary corrected them. “I thought you guys wouldn’t want to see me.” He took the flowers back. “But why wouldn’t I want to see you two?”
Pete and Jimmy looked at each other, realizing that Gary probably didn’t remember what went down.
“You don’t remember?” Jimmy questioned to confirm his suspicions. Gary shook his head. “Well uh, I’m sure it’ll come to you. That or your guard dog will tell you.” He remarked, earning him a smack to the back of the head from Pete.
“What he means to say is that your brother will probably tell you soon! So there’s no need to tell you now!” Pete said to remedy Jimmy’s remark.
Gary raised his eyebrow, “Is it like you guys ran me over?”
“Uh, you know I think it’s better you just remember it on your own! And we should be leaving now!” Petey pulled on Jimmy’s arm and lead them to the door. “Bye Gary!”
“Bye-“ was all he managed to say before the door shut. Now he was alone; with only the lingering question. What happened?
What did happen?
“Bye-“ The door shut before he could finish. Leaving Gary with his beat up flowers and half finished book. Gary was left alone with one question after that. What did happened?

The boy realized his eyes had welled up with tears as he pondered with the grappling questions he had. Leo brought Gary in for a hug. Leo reassured the younger one that he’d stay with him.
Gary sobbed and buried his face into Leo’s shoulder. He didn’t even know why he was crying. But he cried and latched onto Leo, gripping his shirt tightly as they hugged.

Gary buried his face into his brother’s shoulder as he sobbed. Gary tried to remember the moments leading up to his stay but it was all a blur. Anytime he thought he had a glimpse of a memory it quickly disappeared and replaced by the sounds of his sobs.
Gary felt his hot tears fall down as he gripped the older’s shirt. He squeezed his eyes and buried his face into older brother’s shoulder.
His eyelids felt heavy, as if they asked him to keep shut.
