Ryuu hated flying. Ever since he first set foot on a plane, he knew he preferred both feet firmly on the ground. Sometimes he wondered why he even had a plane. (Well, two planes and a helicopter.) However, as his pilot and aides so frequently reminded him, they were a necessary evil. This is why he was on one right now, trying to hide his altitude sickness under a cool, composed exterior.
“Mr. Silph, we will be landing in Mistralton City in ten minutes. Please fasten in for landing,” came the captain’s voice over the loudspeaker.
The private jet came down along the runway ten minutes later, waved in by a man with flags. Two of Ryuu’s personal bodyguards flanked him as he made his dizzied way down the stairs to leave that gods-forsaken piece of expensive metal.
When he reached the bottom of the stairs, he straightened out his suit and tie and looked around the area. Strange, the scientist as meant to be meeting him here, wasn’t she? He hoped she wasn’t running late. It would be a poor reflection on her apparently shining work ethic.
“Where is Doctor Fennel?”
