Is there such a thing as an omega naturally losing the ability to go into heat at a young age as a trauma response?
Yes, but if it's a trauma response it's psychosomatic and can come back with intensive therapy. If an omega (for any reason) isn't getting their heat they will need to go on hormone supplements for their body to continue normal function, or they risk having complications.
If they have not gone into heat before or haven't presented yet, they will be given a low dosage of beta hormones to keep them stable until the time that they do present.
Not everyone presents. Could be psychosomatic and linked to abuse or trauma, could be biological/medical, or whatever. These people aren't betas, omegas, or alphas, they are called Iota and are usually sterile, don't have the same scent producing or identifying traits, or any traits regaled to a dynamic. The trauma required to keep someone in the iota state is extreme. and if a doctor declares you an iota, it means it's permanent, not temporary. It's a nervous system, pituitary, and reproductive disorder.
It's not often that someone gets this diagnosis because you won't be diagnosed as this until the doctors are absolutely sure.
Maybe I’ve been reading too much omegaverse.
I’ve been hungry a lot recently and my first thought was “Ah yes. Pre heat.”
Do you think pre heats are kind of like right before a girl gets her period? Like that 'oh sh*t' moment you have or that feeling of dread when the signs of menstruation appear? For example moodiness, cravings, aches etc. So do omegas get that 'oh no' moment? And how do you think they deal with it?
Hey Hi Hello!
Note: My Asks are closed, I’m catching up!
It really depends on your AU.I like to think there are some “oh no” moments, like warnings.
Such as:
Loss of appetite.
Increase need to be in a safe place. A Heat can be a fragile time.
Can become moody.
Sleeping longer, sleeping more.
For an “Oh Shit” Moment, that will be when the Heat actually starts and the Omega is not in a good place to have their Heat. Like, they are not home or something.
it's like you can feel it.
