MERCEDES-BENZ – TRANSPARENT WALLS
What it is:
For 125 years Mercedes-Benz has developed innovations such as PRE-SAFE®, which detects potential hazards in time to make driving safer. To demonstrate the principle of PRE-SAFE®, they filmed almost invisible streets at dangerous intersections and projected the images onto the buildings in front of them. This way, everyone was literally able to see through the walls and identify dangers just in time.
A unique advertising effort that not only explained PRE-SAFE®, but also made traffic a little bit safer.
Why it is Cool:
1. Because in a funny, yet practical way, Mercedes shows in real time and in actual situations the Pre-Safe concept, proving that we all are, in fact, “dolphins in the city” being confronted with danger everyday;
2. And also bbecause “empowering me” with tools and means to prevent those dangers, makes me value those tools and demand the industry to provide them as a standard

MERCEDES-BENZ – PAREDES TRANSPARENTES
1. Porque de uma forma divertida, e ao mesmo tempo prática, a Mercedes mostrou em tempo real e em situações reais o conceito Pre-Safe, provando que todos nós somos, de facto, “dolphins in the city” sendo confrontados com o perigo todos os dias;
2. E também porque “empowering me” com essas ferramentas e meios para prevenir esses perigos, faz com que eu valorize essas ferramentas e que solicite que a industria mos forneça enquanto um standard.

Mercedes | Transparent Walls
Mercedes has developed a system, PRE-SAFE, which turned chaotic traffic intersections into a safer place. What it does is basically letting you look around the corner. Jung von Matt made a campaign to test the system and used a camera to film what was going on around the corner. The images were projected onto an 18/1-format billboard on a building corner so all motorists and cyclists could see them.
This is really cool. Transparent walls.
Ambient Media: Mercedes-Benz. For the PRE-SAFE® precrash system from Mercedes-Benz, we made chaotic traffic intersections safer. Everybody was able to look around the corners into the streets as if the walls were transparent, and could therefore detect potential hazards in time to avoid them. To achieve this, we used a camera to film what was going on around the corner. The images were projected onto an 18/1-format billboard on a building corner so all motorists and cyclists could see them.
