Got this as change from a vending machine today. When these were first issued in 2000, it was exclusively with this image on the obverse. I remember thinking Wow a Gold Dollar Coin with a woman on for US currency, This is the Future. 😐 #pre911 #nightynight

Took this pic atop the Empire State Building on my first visit to NYC, sometime in March 2000.  I can't remember the exact date.  It was a pretty overcast day, but you could see most of manhattan on all sides.  I decided to add the purple gradient in PS just to give the sky a little more color.  

I've been back to NYC many times, but nothing was quite like that first trip.  Feeling the electricity of the city for the first time, man I totally got swept off my feet.  When I see those two towers in the foreground on the right, I feel peace.  I can stare at them all day...
