Working in design and garment production, I think about fabric waste a lot. I made this rug by hand out of fabric selvage and longer scraps. The repetitive process allows me to focus on what I am making and what my place in the world is and can be. . In addition to consuming responsibly, and avoiding fast fashion chains, I encourage you to seek out new options for your unusable textiles. Large scraps can often be resold or donated. Small scraps in some areas can be recycled and repourpoused as insulation.
