Le post de tantôt sur l’hôpital en Alaska m’a rappelé ce bâtiment-ci.

École secondaire Inuksuk High School (1969-1971), Iqaluit, Nunavut

Conçu par la firme d’architecte québécoise PGL et préfabriqué à Sainte-Foy avant d’être expédié puis assemblé sur place, à Iqaluit. Le bâtiment est construit à partir de fibre de verre, à la fois légère et capable de résister au grand vent de l’arctique. 

Avant la construction de cette école, les étudiants inuits devait allez suivre leur éducation secondaire dans un pensionnat à Churchill au Manitoba. (oh oh).

Conceived by Quebec’s architectural firm PGL and prefabricated in Sainte-Foy, Québec before being shipped to Iqaluit, Nunavut. The building is made out of fiberglass which is at the same time light and strong enough to resist the strong arctic winds. 

Before the school was established, inuit childrens were send to a residential school in Churchill, Manitoba to pursuie secondary education. (hummm).
