How close we are to the finishing line
Hi baby, It's been 4 weeks since our last update, but it's been such a ride, and we are both getting closer to the finishing line. I have just entered my 38th week and now, I have to mentally prepare myself for you. On my 35th week (7sept) I went for Yaqyn class for a theory birthing class with your Abah conducted by Kak Hanani. There we learnt about empowering ourselves and about the different medical interventions and its effects on us. It inspires me to have a more pro-natural birth and I am more positive that I made the right decision to take Dr Citra as my Gynae of choice. The doula was very approving it. I guess Dr Citra is really very well known for being pro-natural. On my 36th week, 14 Sept, I decided to join another birthing class, this time practical birthing class conducted by Kak Fadillah Yusope, another doula. She was very nice too and a very enthusiastic doula. She was very inspiring and very gutsy that makes the session very empowering again. I learnt the different moves to reduce the contraction pains and I make you move down and work with gravity for a faster birth. I'm practicing those more almost everyday, except when I am tired to make sure I remember the steps and also to make you come down. At the same time, she encouraged me to walk and climb up the stairs more which I am trying I do now... Although walking is not really easy as it causes me to have swollen legs, the stairs climbing is something I surprisingly enjoy! I find it more effective for me to sweat compared to walking, but I guess walking makes you come down more ur to more movements. But I'm not sure if slow walking really works, so I'm guessing maybe the stairs climbing will be more effective for me. I've been climbing the stairs at the MRT, at home, at my office and ppl are looking at me and thinking is this pregnant woman ok? Hahaha! Anyway, during my 36th week check up with Dr Citra, she told me that your head is slowly moving into my pelvic area, meaning you are almost engaged. Yay! :) good girl! I hope u can engage soon so it'll be easier for me to push u out. Hahaha. Last Thursday was my 37th week check up with Dr Citra. I decided against doing the GBS test as I think we are quite ok? I haven't been having much itches and I just had my Brazilian so I'm guessing it SHOULD be ok... Hahaha. Anyway, again, Dr Citra checked on your heartbeat which is 140 which she said is good and normal. She also checked that your head is down using her hands and checking my tummy and said that she can't feel your head, meaning you are already engaged! I asked her if she's sure as I feel you are still quite high but he said it seems like you are cos she cant feel your head, meaning you should be in the pelvic area already. That is obviously good news for me! Now all I have to do is to keep on exercising and make sure that Ye cervix opens up and maybe u get lower so that I can have a faster labour. I guess I cannot do anything about the pain but I can control the time frame of the labour with all my efforts. Since doing the exercises at home, your Abah has been looking at me crazily. I guess he can't relieve that I am doing so many exercises during my pregnancy compared to when I wasn't pregnant. Anyway, thanks to the exercise, I lost 0.4kg! I was 64kg on my 36th week but then became 63.6kg on 37th. I read it is also another sign that you are almost ready to come out because you have gained enough fats for yourself. I know this is bad but I'm also trying to eat as much as I can so that I won't have too many cravings during my confinement. I'm in my 38th week now and you seem to be very comfortable. I hope we won't have to induce you though because that's the last thing I want to do, make you (and me) feel so much pain. Oh, and I forgot to tell u we bought some new stuffs for u... We bought u swaddle pods, some mittens, swaddle muslin, and another small cabinet for u. We are trying to buy the more important stuffs first and will slowly buy more for u okie baby? Hehe. I love you so much baby and I hope you can help me make your delivery and smooth one. Thank u so much for being lovely in my tummy. See you soon, my child. <3
