2014 Fall Internship Program
The application window for the 2014 Fall Internship Program Internship is open.
We are looking for passionate students to join our team during the Fall of 2014. Interested students must be able to commit to two full days per week.
PremierSports invites you to come join us for a unique fall experience, including personal and professional development programming , mentoring, community-building and more.
This program is designed to provide exposure into the technology industry for students who are historically under-represented in this field. This is an unpaid internship program.
Responsibilities
Responsibilities will vary by group.
Minimum qualifications
Proof of credit eligibility and course enrollment from an accredited academic institution must be provided prior to start date. Students must be a current junior. Sophomores are encouraged to apply to the PremierSports Internship Program.
Preferred qualifications
Students should be currently enrolled in a 4-year BA/BS program, in any major, at a university in the United States.

Marketing: The Marketing team applies the same level of creative originality to PremierSports's marketing activity that the company has applied to online search and advertising. The Four Coaching Personalities Our research found that coaches primarily operate in four coaching styles. Some coaches have all four styles in their repertoire and have the flexibility to re-frame a style for specific situations. The four coaching styles are:
Teacher Supporter Supervisor Director
The Teacher: Conceptual Structure: Bottom up. Description: The Teacher possesses the natural ability to lead athletes toward learning and is capable of recognizing and calling upon each member’s potential. This type of coach is able to formulate developmental techniques for their students to engage in. One of the distinguishable characteristics of a teacher is the faith they have in their student’s ability to achieve any goal. Key Characteristics: • Positive through adversity • Clearly explains goals and plans to team • Develops leaders • Demonstrates vision • Give instruction and constructive criticisms The Supporter: Conceptual Structure: Bottom up. Description: The Supporter encourages their team constantly and work to have a team atmosphere that promotes optimism. One of their main focuses is on human development, and relying on their players to work hard to achieve their goals. Of all coaching types, the supporter is the most motivational. Key Characteristics: • Primarily positive • Develops traits • Confides in entire team for major decisions • Mediates between players and/or coaches • Builds strong relationships The Supervisor: Conceptual Structure: Horizontal Description: The Supervisor is comfortable issuing orders, but has a much more improvisational approach, not relying much on drawn out planning. They are cooperative with their own superiors, and expect the same level of respect from their subordinates. Supervisors are strong believers in structured seniority. Key Characteristics: • More focused on past rather than future. • Often relies on the players’ natural abilities to shine through • Is less aggressive, and will let situations play out completely before making adjustments • Typically a more experienced coach who isn’t surprised by much The Director: Conceptual Structure: Top Down Description: The Director possesses a more aggressive leadership style than others. They have a strong natural urge to give structure and direction, regardless of the situation. They will often work to establish plans for achieving long-term goals. Key Characteristics: • Gives direct and logical criticisms • Does not let other influence his decisions • Aggressive management • Is not worried about being likeable Take a moment to think about your coach. Every coach has a unique personality that is defined by their character traits. The first step to understanding your coach is to identify their personality type.
The 16 Personalities types:
Each coach has a specific personality. In order to identify one’s specific personality, we will examine a combination of their entrenched values, experiences and educational influences. In an effort to help reveal a coaches personality, the RateTheCoach Team would like to direct you to the Myers-Briggs Type Indicator (MBIT). WHAT IS COACHING?
Webster’s dictionary defines the term “Coach” as:
“one who instructs or trains <an acting coach>; especially: one who instructs players in the fundamentals of a competitive sport and directs team strategy.” (Webster’s 2011).
The PremierSports team understands Webster’s definition as a broad clarification, but our definition of a coach runs much deeper. No one is born a coach. Coaching skills are developed through years of practice, modification, and studying the game. With this understanding, we define a Coach as:
“A leader who administers their unique skill-set toward a group for a common definitive purpose while balancing leadership and management responsibilities.”
Most effective and successful coaches have a conscious understanding of the following eight terms:
Self: (includes: self-awareness, self-management, social awareness and social skills.) A coach must be aware of themselves in order to fortify another individual’s strengths and correct their weaknesses.
The Sport: Through years of experience either playing or teaching the sport, a coach must know the game inside and out.
Organizational Skills: It’s the Coaches job to coordinate, plan, and implement a method to succeed.
Symbolism: Athletics are as much mental as they are physical. The subconscious of players is more important than most imagine.
Social Dynamics: Knowing how to manage and instruct individuals based on their personalities and lifestyles.
Sociology: Having a strong understanding and relationship with the team’s community.
Poli-Pyschology: Using networking to help further and maintain the team’s success.
Psychology: Every single player’s minds are built differently. An effective coach will find success through molding their instructions to each specific player.
Increased Physical Activity Linked to Decreases in ADHD
