African Monarchy. A photo of young King Otumfuo Osei Agyeman Prempeh II, King of Ashante, 1931- 1970. In 1931, the year of his installation, he imme­diately began to work for the restoration of The Ashante Confederacy, which was accomplished in 1935. Accordingly his status was raised from that of Kumasihene(King of Kumasi The capital of the Ashante ie King of the Capital ) to Asantehene (Absolute Monarch/king of all Ashanti, a kind or emperor). This was one of his greatest achievements. During his reign he managed to get large parts of Ashante lands, which had been taken over by the British restored to the Golden Stool (is the royal and divine throne of the Ashanti people.)

Prempeh, Mfantsipim, Achimota, PRESEC, Aburi Girls’ out of top 10

The Mount Carmel Girls’ Senior High School in the Brong Ahafo Region topped the 2013 West Africa Senior School Certificate Examination (WASSCE) by scoring 100 per cent in the examination.

The school was followed by Wesley Girls’ Senior High in Cape Coast which had 99.60 per cent and the Tepa Senior High school, with 99.55 per cent placed third.
