It was late on the last morning before they left school, and Wallace couldn’t wait any more. He had thought about giving Lux his present on the Hogwarts Express, but the look that he knew would be on his roommate’s face was running through his mind on repeat, and he needed to confirm his suspicions as soon as possible. So he found Lux in the Common Room, and... mildly ambushed him.
“So, uh, if I were to, say,” Wallace said tentatively, keeping his grin slightly hidden. “Get you a present. And give it to you. Now. Would that be alright?” He was mostly proud of what he’d gotten, though it was also fairly exciting to see Lux surprised. It wasn’t an everyday event.
