The end of my involvement with Pressure and the UDA project

I am struggling to find the words to express the sheer disgust and disappointment I feel right now. Part of me doesn’t want to accept that my favorite game was planned and developed by an abuser, but I refuse to look away from the truth.

Zeal is a sexual assaulter. There is more than enough evidence to say this with absolute certainty. I firmly reject the idea of "separating the art from the artist" when the "art" is tainted by this level of abuse and suffering. My empathy and my principles will not allow me to continue supporting anything tied to him. I am glad to see people like Gianni Matragrano already stepping away from the game; I hope the rest of the developers and voice actors follow suit and take an ethical stand.

It hurts deeply that this comes just as I was about to finish the first phase of my Pressure fan-project after two years of work. I’ve spent countless hours studying geology, biology, and physics to fix a lore that now tastes like ashes. I feel like all my effort has been caught in a cruel coincidence, but I cannot simply ignore what happened just to "save my work." The victim’s courage in speaking out is infinitely more important than any Word document or drawing I have ever made.

My friends tell me that because of all the technical and scientific overhauls I implemented, what I’ve written barely resembles the original material anymore. Maybe they’re right, and perhaps in the future, this can evolve into something entirely different, but right now, all I feel is the need to walk away. There is no room for humor or lighthearted critiques when we are dealing with such atrocious acts.

I hope Zeal faces the full legal and social consequences of his actions. If this game has to die, then let it die. It is for the best.
