For Kanera Week 2021, Day 4: Reunion Read on AO3

Relationship: Kanan Jarrus/Hera Syndulla Rating: General Audiences Word count: 2,474 Summary: Kanan and Ezra reunite with the Ghost crew at Chopper base after Malachor.

It was funny, in a dark kind of way, that Kanan had faced off against two inquisitors and a psychotic lapsed Sith lord; was blinded by said lapsed Sith lord in a horrifying and painful manner, probably permanently; nearly lost his padawan; stole a Sith holocron; did lose a close friend to another, far more terrifying Sith lord; barely escaped Malachor with his life; spent the subsequent trip in the Phantom comforting a sobbing Ezra even as half of his face felt like it was on fire – it was kind of funny that he had gone through all of that in just the span of a few hours, and yet he probably wouldn’t categorize this as the worst day of his life. That dubious honor still went to the day he lost his master on Kaller, hearing her sacrifice herself for him as he ran away. The day he hid in that snowy forest and wept as he felt the deaths of thousands of other Jedi across the galaxy, the shock and the fear and the agony of each murder hitting him like multiple physical blows. It had felt like it would never stop, and when it finally did, the silence left behind was even worse. Yes, he could confidently say that was still the worst day of his life. But, Kanan thought as Chopper landed the Phantom on Atollon, today was pretty bad.

EDIT: actually smithers fucking unzipping his body in the last book because he had been wearing a disguise fatsuit the entire time is the single most horrifying visual i have experienced. worse than the yassen gregorovich backstory prequel which was just about a twelve-year-old being forced to play russian roulette. who wrote these for children

I’m going to break the rules (no one should be shocked) and post a FEW lines because I am making a return to smuts and I’m weirdly nervous about it so maybe posting more of it now will make me feel better idk it’s definitely making Clara feel better though.

This was different. He always wanted her close, but this was fueled by more than desire. Finally breaking the kiss, he rested the side of his face against hers, the two of them breathing deeply as he continued to slow the pace of his hips, drawing out and lengthening each thrust. His lips drifted over the top of her cheek, one hand tangled in her hair and the other pressed between her shoulder blades. This wasn’t about desire. He needed her close, needed to feel her breath on his ear when she moaned his name, needed to leave his fingerprints over every inch of her skin.
