My ACNH copy hasn't come yet, so I spent the morning improvising some little tarts while I wait for the blessed package.

“Pastry Pete is so brilliant. Did you know he won a Tasty Num Nums Award last year for combining crullers and bundt cakes?! They’re called ‘Crunts’!”
-Bertie, Tuca & Bertie S01E01

It is cake tasting day, my dudes.
My friends had a Twin Peaks themed wedding and I made their cake.
Featuring...
Floating rings! (t a k e t h e r i n g l a u r a)
Owls that aren’t what they seem! (they are icing)
My log has something to tell you: “I’m delicious.”
Damn fine cups of coffee!
...and best of all, a screaming Josie drawer knob.
The flavors were Damn Fine Cup of Coffee (espresso cake with kahlua soak and espresso Italian buttercream), Cherry Pie (vanilla bean cake with butter streusel, tart cherry filling, Italian buttercream), and White Lodge (vanilla bean cake with Italian buttercream).
Nuts and bolts stuff: this cake was a hodgepodge of mediums. Ring and cherry were fondant and royal icing. Coffee cup was white chocolate and ganache. Log bark texture was wafer paper. Owls were royal icing.

I made a batch of Springerle to give as gifts on our trip to Japan. They’ll be aged to perfection by the time we arrive.
Wait, an aged cookie? Yes, an aged cookie! And it’s amazing. Check out my springerle recipe to learn more about these unique traditional German cookies.
