Quick (bye I wrote this before I typed out the first part and wow I’m such a liar) reviews for beauty and skincare products I bought and tried out last month:
Glow Getters Only Turmeric Soap for Acne and Dark Spots from ÂME SKINCARE. Available on their personal website and miiriya. (I recommend checking for availability on its items on both platforms, as it seems to have separate inventory for them. However, its products get discounted on its site more regularly.)
When I got this soap, I couldn’t believe how tiny it was! Don’t let the picture fool you. The bar fit in the palm of my small hand, and wasn’t as thick as I perceived it to be. I felt like, if I liked it, I’d be reordering it in about a month. But I didn’t like it.
My problem with it was the lather; against my bare skin and on the tools I use to clean myself. It worked well for small areas like my face with my hands, but when it came to the rest of my body—using my loofah and back brush—the soap got lost. It’d barely spread, and what little I felt on went away quickly with the water. When I used it a second time, I even tried just using my hands for my whole body, and it was a miserable experience. I completely understand that it’s not meant to lather up much, but it didn’t even give me a crumb of slip to work with! I’d leave my shower feeling like I didn’t clean anything below my neck. :/
HOWEVER, I did love the smell of it and its ingredients. I specifically went for a soap that targeted dark spots/hyperpigmentation to get at some acne scars on my face and dark areas on other parts of my body. And I can say that for my face, this soap was doing something for me. I could see the dark spots on my cheeks, that I’ve had for years, start to fade. But I couldn’t tolerate how difficult it was to use the soap on any other part of my body—so I’ve bought the gel wash version of it to try out, and will give a review on that after I test it. Like I said, I love the formula, not the application. I immediately tossed this soap out after the bar below this review came.
But if you’re someone who doesn’t mind soaps like this, or just wants to get something for their face and/or neck, I HIGHLY recommend it. I’m even considering getting it again for my face and using the gel wash for my body if the latter works well.
Turmeric Bar from Symmone’s Soaps. Available on miiriya.
Immediately after my first unpleasant experience with the Glow Getters Only (GGO) soap, I bought this Turmeric Bar. I actually wanted to get it before the GGO soap, but it’d been sold out on miiriya for some time. Then I emailed the shop owner to ask if they were ever planning to restock it, and they did so immediately! The bar comes in regular and jumbo sizes, and I ordered the regular. But then when my order was shipped, the owner sent a note saying that they’d upgraded my order to the jumbo size at no extra cost. I’m not saying the owner will always do this for others, but I feel that I’ve got to mention how darling they are. Them doing that made me want this bar to work out for the better all the more.
Like the GGO soap, this one is also meant to help with dark spots/hyperpigmentation. And tbh I was so annoyed with the application of the GGO soap that I expected the worse from this one since they’re both natural products.
Before I even got in the shower, I was disappointed with how the bar that I received didn’t look like the one in the picture. Rather, it was a rectangular one that also fit in the palm of my hand. I honestly questioned if I’d really been given the jumbo size or not, and wondered how much smaller it would’ve been if I’d gotten the regular size like I’d ordered. Depending on how often you shower, the rectangular jumbo bar will last you a couple of weeks at best. The bar runs out fast. Its turmeric color rubbed off on my nail at the slightest touch, and really started to pour out when water hit it. (Note: The bar also left slight yellow stains on my nails, but that comes with most turmeric-infused products. The GGO soap didn’t do either, though.) However, I did email the owner about the shape, and they said that they do still use the mold for the product picture, and that if you buy the jumbo-sized bar and put in the notes that you want the oval/rounded mold, you’re likely to get it. I haven’t tried that out though, because...
This bar didn’t work for me. Yet it did. What I mean is: while it has helped with the dark spots on my face—to the point where they’re almost completely gone—it also added brand-new ones. I don’t know why my face is reacting to it in this mixed way, but it is. (I have normal skin btw.) And I can only be grateful that it’s not a massive breakout but rather four spots without any more popping up...for now. When I noticed the first one, I had thought it was because I was extra stressed that week, but nah it’s the bar. And the bar isn’t doing anything to get rid of them like my old ones.
This reaction is only on my face, as it works perfectly on the rest of my body. It’s helping to lighten up my elbows and the other usual darker areas. It also doesn’t leave my skin feeling dry. Sooo, I’m gonna keep using it until it runs out, but not on my face. I unfortunately won’t be ordering it again. :’(
I still like it, though! It lathers SO well, my experience with it going so smoothly, that it improved my mood when I tried it out. And every subsequent shower with it has been nothing but pleasant. If it wasn’t for the dark spots popping up, this would be thee only soap bar I’d buy from now on, for as long as I could.

I LOVE this oil. LOVE, LOVE, LOVE IT!!
Listen, okay. Listen. I have one major problem with face oils: All the ones I’ve tried before this made me feel like I was sweating them out after a couple of hours. No matter how little of them I used, eventually I’d feel them coating my skin, and would start to think that they’re dripping down my face despite that not being the case. It was so annoying that I was ready to give up on face oils altogether because of it.
And then I got OMN1RA’s and tried it and was absolutely gagged.
This is literally the only face oil I feel comfortable buying right now. The owner really Did That™ when they made this blend. When I put it on, it feels like my skin immediately soaks it up. Which does lead to less of a spread per drop, but I don’t mind that at all. That “heavy” feeling the other oils gave me after a time doesn’t happen with this one, and I don’t feel like it’s spreading onto my clothing or pillows. Not even when I add a few more drops to areas where I double-guess if I put on enough or not.
I apply it at night, and in the morning my skin is nice and plump, and moisturized. And that’s not ALL—

I was super surprised when I was opening up my mail, got to my package from OMN1RA, and found this along with the Lioness Beauty Oil! In a handwritten note, the owner explained how they included it as a bonus gift because they felt that my order would take too long to get to me. I was shocked because it was about three days after I placed my order with them that they’d shipped it... Like, that’s so fast? And my order got to me a few days later?? That’s barely a week’s time, total??? But I love that the owner is that on top of their ish. I was super charmed by it all. <3
This Lash Growth Oil was actually on my wishlist, too, but I didn’t originally buy it because I had planned to test the waters with the shop first by trying the Lioness Beauty Oil. So, yeah, it was a double-win for me when I pulled it out of my package. (And yes I’m bragging lololol.)
And I’m glad how everything worked out because the same way that I love the Lioness Beauty Oil, I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE this Lash Growth Oil. OMN1RA is two for two!
Okay so. In second grade, trying to mimic my mother’s beauty routine, I used a razor blade to shave part of my left eyebrow—and messed it up. :) Since then, despite the hair having grown back, it’s been the less full of the two. Specifically, at its end, where the hair was much wispier. And after a few applications of this, the hair in that spot is now just as dense as it is on my right eyebrow! (I leave it on overnight just like the Lioness Beauty Oil.)
As for my lashes, this oil has helped to bring out my bottom lashes well; they seem more visible. And the smaller top lashes closer to the inner corner of my eyes. As I mentioned briefly in an earlier post, I’ll be using this oil to separate and define my lashes over mascara, of which I’ve never been a fan of.
Pro-tip: If you plan to use this on your brows and lashes, do it in brow-lash pairs. So, I do my right eyebrow and eyelashes first, then my left eyebrow and eyelashes. This helps to get some oil off the brush, so that when I get to my lashes, it’s a lighter coat than what would’ve been if I did both lashes together. This keeps my lashes from being weighed down by the oil, and spreading it to my under-eye when I blink. (And from getting in my eye.) I also recommend swiping the brush up-and-down a couple of times against the ridges inside the bottle—try your best to not let the brush tip touch the oil—to help with this, too.
Also, the bottle is spill-proof!
All in all, this Lash Growth Oil has become an essential product for me just like the Lioness Beauty Oil. I cannot recommend either enough!!
As always, I hope y’all got something out of this. Remember that everyone’s bodies are different, so even though this has been my experience with these products, yours may be different. You’ll just have to try them out and see for yourself. But overall, I hope they work well for you~!
