Honfleur

We spent a day visiting Honfleur whilst on holiday. It's down the coast from where we were staying - in the Calvados region. It's a very pretty little town. Very touristy so I wouldn't like to visit in summer as I expect it gets pretty busy. The main reason we went was to visit the Erik Satie museum. If you're not familiar with the name then go and listen to Gymnopedie on YouTube and I can almost guarantee you'll have heard it before as it's an oft-used piano piece. I can't say I learnt a lot from the museum but it was an entertaining and bizarre way to pass an hour. It was all very surreal as you walked around with headphones listening to his music. These images are just a flavour and I don't have a picture of the final room containing a kind of carousel that you had to sit on and pedal round to make it open up and play music!
