I was just looking at that second gif, after he’s brought in front of kyle ron, and I think the reason it fucks me up so badly is that like. he knows in that moment that he just got himself killed. he’s alone, his ship is destroyed, his droid is gone, and once he’s taken aboard the FO’s ship, there won’t be a rescue. he knows all that but he keeps fighting and resisting anyway, bc that’s who he is! and then right when everything was at its most bleak, he got a rescue from his future husband 😌

listen, the fact that he had a way out and he didn’t take it is what fucked me up the most. before he was even captured, he could’ve escaped, ran after bb8 or just hid until the FO left. ren killed lor san tekka before he could tell him the map was with poe. so no one would’ve noticed, no one even knew he was there. but poe with his big ass heart couldn’t just leave and let ren and his troopers get away with killing lor and abusing that village so he jumped out of his hiding spot like ‘’over here assholes’’, bringing a blaster to a force fight, knowing the resistance wasn’t gonna intervene if anything happened to him. and then despite knowing what ren is, he still acted cheeky with him, covering his fear in the only way he knew how, right until the moment ren decided to scramble his brain. BUT THEN HIS HUSBAND IN A SHINY WHITE ARMOR SHOWED UP AND ALL WAS WELL

my favorite John and Oscar movie is this space movie, I forget the name, but they play these two guys who meet, get separated and they each think the other guy died, then reunite and fall in love and have little space adventures together with their friends. there may have been a couple of sequels? not as good though :/

can I ask about your Teenage Dreams series for the fic meme?

This series actually started based on a prompt on the kinkmeme about Kes walking in on them and it mentioned awks aftermath, and I thought what would be more awks than messy still-closeted teenage first time??? So really the scene i was working from in my head was the middle chapter, with Kes, and just trying to get finn and poe into a place where that would happen but have it work out okay because they were cute and perfect together and just having A Day.  

I was most focused on the aftermath -- the actual walking in part felt like it was too embarrassing all around to write, and it wasn’t as important as the background stuff.

also i’m just -- a sucker for a good kes & poe relationship, a bit of characterization disney.corp can just TRY to pry from my cold, dead hands.

my grandpa's name was Bud, and that's what we all called him. when he died, like 4 or 5 cars of us drove up into the mountain's to scatter his ashes amongst nature. he used to have a house in Banff National Park in Canada, and would drive people around up there all day to find animals to see. so when we were on our way to scatter the ashes, suddenly traffic stopped because a tree was down ahead. we'd just passed an overlook and decided to turn around and go back to that. 1/2

when we got to the overlook, we noticed that some people were staring into the trees across the road. there was a mama bear and two cubs climbing up there. Bud was the last person to believe in the supernatural, but it really felt like the tree was down specifically to make us turn around and get to see the bears. my cousin also saw a Bud Light bottle cap on the ground, after his dad jokingly referred to the ashes as "Bud Light." not really spooky, but we all believe it was him influencing us

this is so cute i love this story! it totally makes sense that he would be there with you for that trip and try to steer you in the direction to see some soft bears when that’s what he’s always been doing. i’m glad you had that experience!
