The final question from before the hiatus was sent by an account called "prettyseclusion" and they have since, unfortunately, deleted. I don't know if they continue to use tumblr at all or still check tarot blogs/tags at all, but I figured I would offer up the reading anyways and tag their old username in case they have a friend or something that could pass the message along. 6 degrees of separation from you and any one other person, right?
Hey there. I would like a free reading. I am feeling stuck in my life at the moment and wondering what would make me happier. I'm not sure what direction to take.. Thanks in advance:)
Inverted Six of Wands - Where's your head? The quintessential "hubris" card, the reminder that "pride goeth before a fall." When we feel we have been just or we have had a mighty boon, sometimes it can go to our hand and cloud our judgements. Likewise it can happen where we project it onto others that they have been unfairly successful and we are jealous or envious. It's not common for me to get the following feeling with this card, but I feel like there's an undercurrent of "Are you sure that what you ARE doing/what you THINK or TOLD you should be doing is what you REALLY need to be doing?" The old trope of the child going through medical school because their parents want them to rather than because of a passion for medicine comes to mind. It may be useful/beneficial, but it has consequences. Pushing a square peg through a round hold cracks the mold and damages the square. Inverted Queen of Swords - Who are you fooling? This Majesty warns of the cutting danger of deceit, especially in regards to the Self. If we deny our talents, our emotions, our Selves, we strip away parts of us, good and bad alike. To say we are one thing when we are really another does not only those who would come seeking the false thing we proclaim a disservice, it puts ourselves in bad positions. Fake it til you make it is not a wholesome way to live a fulfilling life, and can leave one feeling like a charlatan even should you become successful. Eight of Pentacles - What's in your toolbox? Sorry, that joke was awful, but I couldn't help it. It fit too perfect. This spider calls you to spin your master web, whatever that means for you. Are you amazing at gardening, knitting, satire on the internet? Do you not have a mastered skill yet? This is a call to detail, to precision, a waving flag for not just good craftsmanship but GREAT craftsmanship. There is something healing in being able to look at something we have done, even if it's not our "day job", and feel truly satisfied that we made it, to the best of our ability at the time. Find your craft, do the thing, be happy.
May your footsteps be worth it!
