Heathen came across a pretty new friend yesterday. I love having snakes around, especially rat and king snakes. Copperheads and others are lovely, don't get me wrong. They just make me very nervous with my elderly rodent and mom wandering the yard with her lack of sight. Pretty babies that eat problematic mice, rats and venemous sneks? As many as will peacefully share the yard, please! Considering the hawks and the many owls in our yard, I'm surprised to see such a large and lovely baby.
