This is true, though It is a harder film to make than Carrie is. Partly owing to the length. I'm not saying it will never happen. Cary Fukunaga is working on it which is pretty cool. He may very well bring it to fruition.

I'm so sorry I am just getting to this now since you sent this in about a month ago!

I've heard from a few people now that they thought the ending was disappointing which is interesting since entire movie essentially revolves around what the resolution will be. The story is ambiguous in terms of what happens to the leads, but I liked that there wasn't a hard-and-fast conclusion. 

You never fully understand what the creature wants other than a story with an ending. It helps the characters along and seems to want to save them from a destructive end, but then does it force them to a different conclusion or does it kill them somehow itself? I have no idea. 

The creators talked in an interview (@ 8:45) about originally intending a flash-forward at the end of the movie where we see the two leads chatting about the experience and wrapping up all of the plot points. But they didn't go with it and I'm glad they left it open-ended. 

I'm curious what other people thought though. What did you think of the ending?
