written and recorded 2014 by andrew salvner (aka pretzels malone) the track art is the torn up backside of one of my favorite basement chairs. my cat verbal (who ain't here no more) would go to town on my basement furniture. we had a deal, and for his part, he did a good job of leaving our upstairs stuff relatively unharmed. the chair from the pic is honestly not all that comfy, but i miss my buddy...and when i sit there i like to pretend that he's behind me going to town keeping his shit sharp. the song has nothing to do with my cat. i wrote it for a friend. them words: you gotta be stronger than your heart. because he swears to you that he cares for you, but he's tearing you apart. bonus stuff: (who hoo...bonus!!) there is another very different version of this song. the music is much faster and completely backwards. and the vocals are completely different. i made a video if you want to watch :) https://www.facebook.com/photo.php?v=812962368731206 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8-tibBKFeNQ the acoustic guitar and bass lines were recorded on 4-track cassette. i moved the tracks over individually to my laptop using audacity. i did a ton of editing. i then added the vocals and beatbox straight to audacity (using the 4-track as a vocal amp). the first half of my pretzels page is pure 4-track recordings. recently most of my recordings are much more like this. some kind of weird in-breed of cassette and free downloaded multi tracker. that's all. i hope you feel bonus'd. :D

written and recorded 2011/2012 by andrew salvner (aka pretzels malone, lil' spaceman) i used this old recorded guitar thing behind some home movies. this song had always just been an instrumental piece. but as i was listening to it over and over again editing the film, i started singing along in my head to what was happening no screen. i thought it was interesting at the least, and recorded the vocals. them words: And she’s running down a hill And she’s swinging on a swing Hold tight to that rope, there’s hot lava neath your feet And she’s launching from a torpedo tube from a submarine Spaceman Hey she’s running here towards me, Where you going? And she’s coming back to me, She says I must be leaving And she falls and stands, Sliding down a twirly slide Swinging over sharpened bricks, There’s that slide again Splashing water, Spinning daughter Dancing as she waits to meet tinkerbell And that’s me holding my phone, see I’ll wave, that’s me right there And she dances in front of me, looks like she has a thousand hands

the song was written exclusively for the 2013 sizzling summer sounds compilation by fag ash records. lots of props to the kids with cigarettes. made me mucho proud to be included on this. available for download here - http://fagashrecords.bandcamp.com/album/sizzling-summer-sounds-disk-one looped piano (yamaha psr300) and drums (from digitech bp90 bass pedal) from a 2012 recording. i added three new bass guitar lines. (tracks 2-4). it was originally a cassette 4-track offering...but i moved the tracks individually to audacity and went to town. so it's more mid-fi than lofi.
