With this tutorial you’ll be able to learn how the “Starplay” app works and how you can use it to help Monsta X through their next comeback.
“Starplay” is the current app used by SBS MTV The Show, so fans can “Pre-Vote” and “Live Vote” for the music show. However, you do need to collect Stars in order to convert them into “Voting Tickets”.

If you still can’t download the app because it’s not available in your country please try the following:
1. For Android users please get the app through this link.
Note: you will need to allow your phone to download apps from unknown sources in your settings.
2. For iOS users you will need to use your Korean Apple account and if you don’t have one and don’t know how to build one, you can check this tutorial. After you’ve changed accounts, you can download the app from the App Store.
3. For either mobile operating system, you can use a VPN and easily download the app as if you were in Korea.
CREATE AN ACCOUNT
1. After opening the app, it will automatically open the sign up page and you can select any of the shown SNS to create an account.
2. Once you select the SNS, a new page will show up where you can choose your nickname, and you’ll also have to agree to the terms of use.
3. After you make your account, you can quickly change the selected language from Korean to English, since it’s more likely that the app will be in Korean when you download it. You just need to open the main menu, scroll down, press “Language” and then select “English” on the pop up window.
GET TOKENS AND VOTING TICKETS
1. Access the small shop at the bottom right. This will show you that you can collect “Golden Star Tokens” and “Silver Star Tokens.”
Voting Tickets can’t be collected directly, you need to collect Tokens and then convert them into votes.
Golden Star Tokens: You can collect them by purchasing them. They are the most valuable ones.
1 Golden Star = 2 Silver Stars.
They do not expire, so you can keep them until comeback.
Silver Star Tokens: You can get them for free by either completing missions or watching video ads on the app. (You can collect a maximum of 50 stars per hour)
10 Silver Stars = 1 Voting Ticket.
Silver Stars expire (!!). Every month on the 15th (12AM KST) the app will reset your silver stars and they’ll go back to 0 if you don’t convert them.
Voting Tickets: You can only get them by converting Silver Star Tokens.
You can’t convert Golden Stars directly into Voting Tickets.
Voting Tickets do not expire, so you can keep them until comeback.
VOTE FOR THE SHOW
1. Once you’ve collected your Voting Tickets and Pre-voting opens, you can select the middle button at the bottom and then press “SBS” at the top bar.
2. On this page you’ll be able to find “SBS MTV “THE SHOW”” pre-vote and select it.
3. Search for Monsta X and press “VOTE”. Once you see the pop-up, write down how many Tickets you wish to spend and press “OK”. - Please remember to save 3 voting tickets or 30 silver stars for Live Vote (So you can vote during the The Show’s Broadcast)
You can start collecting Voting Tickets any time you want, there’s not a defined limit to how many tickets you can gather and use. The sooner you get Voting Tickets, the more votes you’ll have to use during the comeback season!
Broadcast voting is done the same way as pre-voting but you can only use 3 Voting Tickets.
Pre-voting happens between Friday, 08:00PM ~ Monday 02:00PM (KST)

Advance Calculations: Digital (40%); Album (10%); Video (20%); Experts (15%); Starplay Pre-Vote (5%)
