Currently the way I'll be selling these is via "base kits" for customization, limited commissioned slots, and pre-made ones (themed or otherwise) I'm currently needing a chunk of cash soon to pay for lunches, so expect pre-orders to open up in the coming week or so on Ko-Fi or Etsy.
0600 - Wake up call from Alex. Said he was trying to clear out the rest of the Neuromod Division. Needed my help.
0900 - Breakfast with Dahl. Tense. Wish he’d say something to me.
1000 - Ran through another Operator program with Alex. Personality isn’t fully compatible with combat training. Look for sim cards next trip into labs.
1600 - Stopped for lunch break. Late for meeting with Mikhaila.
There are a few extra doodles and notes taking up the next lines. A poorly drawn Typhon Mimic, alongside a Talos I Operator. There is a small text box reading “Hello Dr.Yu!” next to it. Part of what looks like a flower has been scribbled out. ‘CHECK IN ON BOOSTER FAB.’ Is scrawled hastily along four lines in all capital letters, followed by an arrow to ‘GLOO NEEDED’ in much the same manner.
2000 - Dinner alone.
2200 - Started attempts to broadcast a frequency off of Talos I. Alex thinks it’s silly. But there could be others. I know there are others.]
Transcript ends. Asks for Doctor Morgan Yu are open.
I am remaking my Prey 2017 Operators :D This is the old version from 2022:
The new version is two times as big, and will have internal speakers that can play audio from the game :)
The older project file isn't supported anymore, so I figured it was time to use my learned experience to remake it. There will be a price jump due to the electronics, but I think it's worth it as well for the new details included. I will be making these as custom "singles" (the Science operator will still be the default one, but I want to make January and December) I might do commissioned versions on a rare basis (if people are actually interested, as these take up a lot of time to make)
They will be avaliable on Etsy, but I'm working on expanding to a Big Cartel store and maybe a Ko-Fi for commissioned versions.
Soooooo after like a few months (sorry yall I got sidetracked and had to take a long break to figure out what was wrong with my body) I'm back :)
It's going to be a long process to get back into it, but I'm making steady progress. The base sides are almost done. I'm clearly outgoing myself here (patting myself on the back) with the detailing. The layers of this robot XD It should - should - be fine. I'm just tackling this one piece at a time since all the parts have to connect at a specific way. The good news is with this process it'll be a lot easier to put together without alignment issues.
The price won't jump drastically (well I do need to increase it since my skills reflect that), so all is well. I'm hoping to make at least one before my temp job, but we'll see how long 3D modeling takes.
Do yall have opinions on which variation I should prioritize? Each operator type has a base body, but with different modifications/tools, so it'd be a toss between them.
The gleeful laughter yall wouldn't believe. The concept works! I need to change some of the plates' thicknesses, but it works :,D
And for fun here's an even more accurate representation of the size difference
And it's so much easier to put together 😭 I don't have to worry as much about alignment anymore, so kits should be much easier as well.
Also, fun fact, I had to go in game to whack a Medical Operator a few times. This was to figure out how the plates connected at the top XD I was right. These things are not built to last in the game XD Very hollow.
We got the ball frame :D Prey 2017 Operator October Update
A belated, but welcome update :D
After about 8 days of perfecting the frame (the little hooks on the sides of the ball) it finally fits. The clearances on these tiny parts were tighter than expected. Who knew learning how parts connected would take a while? I did haha.
Now there's just a few steps left :) Need to flatten/shape some aluminum for the wiring in the front and the top. Then there's all the painting and other tubes that go on it.
Just about 3-4 months and this project is almost done :D
Wanted to show off the Prey 2017 Operator versions :D
First one I sculpted, casted in resin, then hand painted. 2nd one was a scratch build using styrene sheets. 3rd one was 3D printed from a model I designed in FreeCad.
Trying to make the 3rd version viable as a kit, so other people can make their own little robot friend. I also had ideas for making it light up, but that's if it actually works.
