John felt hollow, as if someone had belted him in the chest with a baseball bat. All air was gone from his lungs, his heart pounding as he turned towards the voice. “No,” he gasped breathlessly. Not him. It couldn’t be him. He was just a boy. A boy who had never picked a fight or shown hostility to anyone before in his life– except occasionally sassing a peacekeeper who tested or overstepped their boundaries. A boy who selflessly sacrificed food and resources for others who were no worse off than him. A boy traded his name in at the Reaping every year for tesserae that would help his family live another year. A boy who was nothing more than 147 pounds of pale skin and fragile bone. Not him, John pleaded, the words failing to reach his mouth. Not my boy. Not Stiles.

There was that feeling again, as if Stiles had been slammed in his chest. Tears prickled at his eyes and his lungs burnt for air. His limbs trembled, hands quivering as the world around him fell silent. The man’s face twisted into a cynical smile as he said, “Good luck, and a happy Hunger Games to you all.”

A while ago I proposed the idea of putting together a look crate for each book of the Prey series, but as things are it’s very complicated to put together so it might never happen.

It’s an idea I would love to do, but as of this current time it doesn’t seem to be an option that I could see through.

I’m making a quick apology now. I need to take a break from writing the Hunger Games AU and work on some other stuff. 

I have been writing the Prey series for nearly two years straight now and I need a short reprieve to get over the little bit of writers block I have coming into the final part of the series.

I will still be posting the final three chapters of Hunted on AO3 over the next few weeks and if you can’t wait then you can buy yourself a copy of Hunted (details here), but I’m only half way through writing chapter one of Revolution (the final part) and I’m really struggling.

I will be writing, but I just need time to step back and work on some other things like one shots, shorter chaptered fics and maybe some other stuff, I don’t know. But I just need to step out of the Hunger Games universe for a little while.

I am sure to regret this when university starts back for me in a few weeks, but I’d rather struggle later and make good content than give you a half-hearted pile of shit now.

Sorry for the change in plans and thank you all for your patience and understanding.

I’ll keep you all posted.
