So a good friend of mine is bi and she’s engaged to a transgender man. His family are kind of assholes about it. They were fine when he identified as a girl and a lesbian but this seems to be a problem. Some of his old “friends” threatened to tie him to a pole and rape him, his mum still refers to him as her daughter. Basically a load of transphobic shit. They also believe my bi friend is a slut and attention seeker. So, being us when it came to planning the wedding it quickly went from a colour scheme of red, silver and white to what “what colour tie do you want?” to rainbow tie, rainbow tie to rainbow ribbons, rainbow ribbons to rainbow theme, rainbow theme to “Let’s have a pride wedding to piss the transphobic family”.... This will be an interesting wedding.

My Big Fab Gay Garden Wedding

There couldn't possibly be a more romantic or more celebrated event than last weeks 'Big Fab Gay Garden Wedding' ceremony and reception hosted by the Toronto Botanical Gardens. As one of the florists providing personal flowers we were present as 14 lovely LGBTQ couples exchanged their vows in the presence of exuberant family and friends. There couldn't have been a more perfect way to kick off World Pride!
