Prompt: Beach, Atem/Kaiba, Rating: G
Kaiba watched Atem as he bound across the sand towards the seat to his left where his water bottle lay. Having just wrapped up a volleyball match, the other man drank long and deep.
“Nice form out there,” Kaiba commented, glancing down at the book he was pretending to read.
“Thanks,” Atem replied. “We’re going to head into the water. Want to join us?”
“Once Mokuba returns,” Kaiba said, with a small smile. Atem nodded and began making his way over to the shoreline where his friends waited. Kaiba stared after him.
“You should just tell him you like him,” Mai said from her seat to his right once Atem was out of earshot.

Prompt: Split, Atem/Kaiba, Rating: G
“Would you like to split it?” Atem asked. They were seated in a private booth at one of Atem’s favorite restaurants.
Kaiba eyed the strawberry milkshake. “Sure.” He tore into the additional straw the waitress had left, sliding it into the whipped cream topped drink. He pulled it closer and sucked on the straw. His mouth filled with a cool mix of sweet cream and fruit texture.
To his surprise, instead of waiting until Kaiba was done with his turn, Atem took a drag from his own straw. Leaving them to gaze into one another’s eyes as they swallowed.
Caught off guard, Kaiba almost considered saying something, but realized that would hardly be conducive to their budding relationship. Instead, he chose to enjoy the sight of the other’s mouth wrapped eagerly about the girthy straw, eyes bright with mischief.
Kaiba paused to lick his lips. Atem looked at him in further invitation, straw inches from his mouth. Wordlessly, they leaned in for another round.
Prompt: Menagerie, Atem/Kaiba, Rating: G
Mokuba watched as Atem entered the library and proceeded to dump the contents of the tote bag he was carrying onto one of the large tables. From where he sat, he could make out feathers, loose pieces of paper, magazines, and dried flowers. Mokuba tried to make sense of the menagerie of items.
“What’s all this?” he inquired.
Atem looked up from sorting through the contents. “I’m going to make a scrapbook of my time with your brother. I learned about it from Anzu.”
Mokuba continued to watch as Atem turned his attention to the shopping bag he’d also brought in, pulling out a large book, stack of photos, pack of pens, and, a generous quantity of sticker sheets.
“Just don’t get glitter everywhere,” Mokuba warned with a resigned sigh before returning his attention to his book.
Prompt: Win, Atem/Kaiba (sort of), Rating: G
“Leave it, Atem,” Kaiba chastised, taking back the peeler that the toddler had managed to grab from the countertop. Turning back to the cutting board before him, he continued slicing the carrot he’d been working on. About a minute later, he heard a distinct crunching sound.
Whipping around, he found Atem had bitten into a whole onion and was happily going in for a second bite. Kaiba stepped forward to take it away, but the toddler ran off giggling.
This child was as determined and quirky as his namesake. Kaiba sighed. At least it was a vegetable? It was a small win, but as a single parent, he’d take what he could get today.
