My favourite part of this is the man holding a sign saying “YOU ARE NOT ALONE” with (what I assume is) his phone number underneath. Sodomy laws in Canada had been repealed only six years before. Everett George Klippert, the last man in Canada to be convicted for homosexuality, had been released only four years before. The Brunswick Four had had their trials just over a year before. I hope someone saw that sign, and even if you didn’t ever call, felt a little less alone
