I am delighted to say ‘The Biscuit Maker’ celebrates its publication day! Written by Sue Lawson and published by Walker Books this is a timely story about community and neighbourliness. Here is my friend’s Burmese cat who posed for me many times and didn't mind being given brown instead of grey fur in the illustrations. Its always good when baking biscuits is part of your research. I also spent much time drawing in my own and nearby streets, recording patterns of fences, hedges and gates. Illustrators love to sneak in extra visual narratives to help the flow and keep you entertained on each page. What else can you spot going on on these spreads? Perhaps you can work out which children are best friends. If you turn to the end papers you will see I show you where each family loves in the street
